AKP Weightlifting is an officially sanctioned USAW club, and is open to anyone who is interested in improving their Olympic lifts (Snatch, Clean and Jerk) and developing strength and speed.

Olympic lifting can help athletes develop explosive power, speed and coordination to improve their performance in all sports. Athletes may choose to lift competitively or may train to improve their personal performance.

AKP weightlifting is open to both experienced lifters as well as those new to the sport.  We have lifters aged 8 to 75 years old with all skill levels. We meet  twice a week although you may lift any time the gym is open.   Programming varies from 2 days to 5 days a week depending on your goals.   AKP weightlifting will provide hands on coaching as well as individualized feedback and programming.

AKP weightlifters have qualified for  Youth Nationals, Junior Nationals, The American Open Series, The American Open, Master’s Nationals and Masters Pan Am Games. We have set over a dozen state records, three national records and brought home a multitude of medals including two international podium winners. We would love to have you join us for skills, drills and some occasional dancing on the platforms. We meet Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30pm. If these times don’t work for you there are other options available including remote coaching.

Olympic Weightlifting for all ages

For those who want to compete or those just looking to improve their lifting technique. Coached sessions are Tues/Thurs 6:30pm although lifters are welcome to work at other times as well. Programming varies from 2-6 days a week depending on individual goals.
